Till the soil, plant the seeds, crunch the time.

Time for a fast blog. Very good news: I'm looking at my hours, and how many clients I have per week, and I am very good and safe. even if I get sick for a week, I should still be fine. to summarize, I have about 52 hours left, and 6 weeks to get those hours in, and I've got around 17 clients a week. Only a few have been cancelling each week. So, I'm feeling pretty secure. Finally. It was just an hour ago or so that I input my hours for last week and was able to calculate that and feel pretty good about where I am. So...yay! Celebrations! Everything is going well.

Aside from being super busy, I guess. I'm managing though, and using the intensity of busyness to hone my efficiency and time skills. Slightly unpleasant, but very effective, so gratitude for that as well. As my teacher says, the bitter rind of life's downs, despair, stress and sadness, covers and protects the sweet fruit of happiness. Life has both, and within the bitterness, it is possible to find sweetness.

Inspired by the time crunch, I've been doing a super simple, messy, basic time management technique that's been helping me stay focused. A simple list of all the important things. a few minutes prioritizing stuff that absolutely has to get done from that list, and ordering things that need to happen in an order. Then a quick general mapping out of how much time I have in the next day or few days, and estimating (conservatively) how long the different things will take, and fitting them into the time I have. Or, more often, seeing how they don't fit in.

Having that notebook in front of me tells me what I need to be doing, and how bad an idea it is to try to add something else in that I don't really need to do. It's pretty simple and fast, and seems to be actually helping. Again, necessity being the mother of invention. Or time crunch being the mother of triage, perhaps is more accurate for my case.

Speaking of which, time to go! 7 Weeks remain! ('Till graduation.)

Warmly,

-Isaac Out
